Communicants Class Begins
Communicants Class is a five-week course designed to introduce covenant children as communing members of Christ Central Church. Communing members are individuals who have made a profession of faith, been baptized and take communion.
The course is intended for children who have made a profession of faith and hope to join the church as communing members with their parents. We explore the basic foundations of the Christian faith, the structure of the church, and how members can get involved in the mission of Christ Central.
Classes are Sundays from 11:30-12:45 pm. We will meet every Sunday until February 23 (Jan. 26, Feb. 2, 9, 16, & 23).
Middle & High School Central Youth

Our middle school friends will have their own group and high school will also have their own group! Our hopes for Wednesday nights include: providing the youth a space to be embraced into community, hear grace-driven truth, offer a safe place to ask questions, and ultimately leave feeling loved. In addition, we will provide dinner each week, followed by fun games, worship, diving into God’s word, and the opportunity to discuss in small groups. We can’t wait to see you all there!
Women's Bible Study Begins
Over the past few years, we have inductively studied Old and New Testament books to grow deeper in our love and knowledge of God. We have approached the text intending to let it shape our lives. This year, we will continue this pursuit by focusing on spiritual disciplines so we can continue to apply the knowledge of Scripture to our lives.
Our next Women’s Bible Study will focus on the spiritual discipline of Evangelism. Sharing our faith is a call Jesus gives to all of us when he says, “Therefore, go…” We will spend time looking at conversations Jesus has with various people and the way the apostles shared their faith in Acts, gleaning from their conversations so we can have better gospel conversations.

Christmas Market 2024
We are excited to host our ninth annual Christmas Market, a one-day, low-cost Christmas shopping event for families in the Durham area. Meeting the needs of our community through affordable gifts parents can purchase for their children is a crucial way to be for the good of Durham. This year, our market will be on December 14th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall.
Advent Prayer Service
Each Wednesday during Advent we will host a special time of prayer at our church offices at noon. This will be a time of prayer and reflection amid the Advent season.
Jesus: Hope of the World Advent Night of Worship
Christ Central Church is excited to host a night of worship on December 8th at 6:00 pm. We invite our church and community to begin the season of Advent in song and prayer, lifting the name of Jesus. Our theme for the night is "Jesus: The Hope of the World." Join us as we believe that the hope, peace, joy, and love found in Christ will be a light in the lives of our church, for the lost, and throughout the city of Durham.
Adoption Interest Meeting
The Family Advocacy Ministry (FAM) will be hosting an informational gathering about adoption on Sunday, December 8th during the first service in the Fellowship Hall. This will be a time for families to connect from every stage in the process—from “just thinking about it” to post-adoption. After a conversational breakfast together, we will hear from families who have adopted through private agencies and the Department of Social Services, as well as adults who were adopted and have adopted siblings. We will also provide opportunities for families to think about next steps and learn about the support our ministry offers for adoption.
