Provide Support for those Impacted by Hurricane Helene!

As you know, much of the southeast, particularly western North Carolina, was significantly impacted last week by Hurricane Helene. Perhaps, at this moment, you feel called to show God’s love to our neighbors. In that case, we ask that you consider contributing directly to one of the ongoing efforts in our city and state. Please consider the following ways to contribute. Here are a few great ways you can be involved:

1. Give: One crucial need right now is funding to support our efforts to bring the hope of Jesus to those in need after this storm. 100% of your donation goes to ministry expenses related to this storm, such as purchasing supplies, transportation of equipment and supplies, expenses of the Disaster Response staff, and helping churches with financial needs resulting from the storm. If you would like to donate to the MNA Hurricane Helene fund, click here. You can also give to Samaritan’s Purse relief efforts here.

2. Pray: Below is a list of prayer requests from Steve Jessen, the area coordinator for MNA Disaster Response.

1. For wisdom and direction as I meet with churches in the Calvary Presbytery of in the Greenville/Spartanburg area and the Highlands Presbytery of Western North Carolina to know how we can best help the churches minister to their communities in the aftermath of this storm.

2. For guidance to know where to set up base camps and how to best organize and prioritize the ministry opportunities that we will have in the coming days/weeks/months.

3. For understanding of how to best utilize, manage, and provide for the folks who will be signing up to serve in these areas.

4. Most importantly, pray that God would use our ministry to bring the love and hope of Jesus to so many who have suffered loss.

3. Donate: There is a great need for direct donations. Many families and individuals will immediately benefit from the reception of items to meet basic human needs. we will be collecting supplies to be donated to those in Western North Carolina impacted by Hurricane Helene. You can drop off any supplies you may have at the Connect Tent at any point Sunday morning! Below are ideas of needed items.

3. Go: We are thrilled by the number of people responding to our requests for interest in serving in Western NC as a church body. Both Samaritan's Purse and MNA Disaster Relief have reported to us that the few sites they have up and running are fully staffed, but they will be setting up more over the coming weeks and months. This weekend, we are sending a team to meet with local churches and assist needs. We will be making an announcement once we know the best way to mobilize volunteers to assist with the area's many needs. Please continue to email our Director of Engagement, Matthew Madonia, to join our volunteer list.
